MEET TAYLOR
Taylor is the owner and founder of Ascend Tutoring LLC. She started Ascend Tutoring with the desire to give children the individualized support they needed to be successful. In the beginning of her practice she noticed that so many children struggled with reading. In particular, she started working with one child who came to her in 5th grade almost completely illiterate. This ignited a fire in her to learn all she could about how to teach reading, the science and research behind reading, and how to best help children with dyslexia. With all the knowledge she gained about reading and dyslexia through research and clinical experience, Taylor developed her own reading program. Credentials:
-Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education
-Associate of Science in Education
- Holds a Professional Educator License in the state of Utah
-Developer of the Ascend Tutoring LLC reading program
-Certified reading and dyslexia specialist with over 1000 hours in clinical practice and research
with an emphasis in dyslexia, reading disabilities, and the Science of Reading.
-Scored a 95% on the Utah Foundations of Reading Test
-4th Grade Classroom Teacher
-Long-term intern roles in 4th and 6th grade.
-Over 1000 hours spent in public schools holding different roles
as a long-term substitute, substitute, and volunteer.
