Why I'm Offering This

I went to college thinking that I would learn how to teach kids the most important skill, reading. But, I didn't. After my first and only reading class that was supposed to teach me how to teach kids early reading skills, I literally asked my friend towards the end of the semester "So, how exactly do we teach reading?"

Around the same time that I was finishing up that semester, I started my tutoring business. Early on, so many parents were reaching out for their children needing help with reading. In particular, there was one child who came to me going into fifth grade almost completely illiterate.

This began my life changing endeavor to learn all I could about the Science of Reading, research based reading instruction, reading difficulties, and dyslexia.

Several years later, and I now have a tutoring practice working with children who struggle with reading. Real, life changing progress happens with these kids each day. That girl who was illiterate, now has the gift of literacy and my goal is to equip more people, like you, with the knowledge that I have so that more children have that gift.
